Pupils will normally transfer to High School between the ages of 15 years, so they will have the opportunity to complete at least four years of secondary education.

Parents will be informed of the transfer arrangements for P7 pupils moving on to High School in the December of the pupils' Primary 7 year.

Transition arrangements to Calderglen High School are as follows:

  • those pupils living within the catchment area of Calderglen High School will transfer to Calderglen High School
  • pupils living outwith the catchment area of Calderglen High will be expected to attend their local secondary school
  • a placing request must be made if you wish your child to attend any school other than your local catchment secondary school - any pupil who is admitted to Blacklaw Primary under Placing Request Legislation will be required to submit a further placing request when transferring to Calderglen High School
  • a placing request will be needed in order to move a pupil attending a non-denominational school to a denominational school and vice versa
